Italian plant-based burger concept Flower Burger has opened their first London site in the heart of Fitzrovia on the iconic Charlotte Street. The restaurant is initially open for takeaway and delivery with plans in place to do full delivery by spring with multi-brand F&B operator Gerry’s Group, who are set to develop the brand across the UK. Flower Burger is a 100% natural, plant-based fast food concept serving colourful vegan burgers and offering a vibrant menu filled with Instagrammable burgers across 14 international outlets in Italy and France.
The buns range from the turmeric’s vivid yellow colour, to the violet tones of the cherry and the purple of black carrot extract. New to the menu and created in honour of the UK site will be the Jungle Burger; served in a green bun made with turmeric and spirulina, a red bean and oat patty, lettuce, tomatoes, courgettes, Flower cheddar and wild smoky BBQ sauce. Further classic Flower Burgers on offer will include the Cherry Bomb, featuring a lentil and basmati rice patty in a pink bun coloured with beetroot and the signature Flower Burger, with a seitan and red kidney bean patty served in a purple bun. Burgers are paired with a selection of sides including Potato Wedges, Edamame and Patatas Bravas. Vegan desserts will also be on the menu such as the Coco-nuts, a raw vegan dessert made with a creamy coconut heart between nut grains in espresso coffee, cocoa roasted hazel nuts and a vegan chocolate glaze and Chocolate Salami, made with dark chocolate, soy milk, whole wheat biscuits with oat flakes. The buns and patties are produced in-house from fresh using fresh vegetables, cereals, legumes and without the use of chemical additives and aromas.
The site is spread across two floors, with a mural of the Beatles’ iconic yellow submarine dominating the walls in the basement. Small tables, sharing tables covered with psychedelic designs will dot both the upstairs and downstairs rooms, with modernist, Eames style chairs and colourful counter seating. In one corner of the basement there will be a swing table; surrounded by four candy coloured swinging chairs suspended from a large metal frame. The space will seat 65 guests across the two floors (30 with social distancing rules) and there will be a fully heated and covered terrace on Charlotte Street accommodating 8 tables.
