Off the back of their QSR Editors Choice Awards I am Döner is to open their sixth store in Windsor next week.
Opening in Datchet, the 420 sq. ft store on Datchet Green will be the innovative brand’s sixth outlet and is the brainchild of chef Paul Baron, who was inspired to make the döner kebab ‘more than just a guilty pleasure’.
The team serve eight kebabs that can also be made into rice bowls, salad bowls and street cart fries The eight offerings cater to non-meat eaters, with a host of vegetarian, vegan, plant based and gluten free options all featuring on their popular menu.
I am Döner Datchet is the first road side franchise opening for the brand. CEO Lawrence Wells said: “We just knew from the start that we had to bring this brand to Datchet. I am Döner offers something that is truly different and it’s a concept that we don’t have in Datchet, so we’re keen to showcase just what it has to offer.”
The new store will recruit eight members of staff ahead of its August opening as a cashless business offering kiosk ordering as well as a takeaway delivery service seven days a week.
Seeds Consulting Founder Matteo Frigeri adds: “We trust Lawrence and his team, supported by I am Döner comprehensive franchise programme, will do very well with next level kebabs in this roadside location. It shows the versatility of the brand, which has one of the highest conversions and returns we have witnessed in fast-food.””.

I am Döner was started in 2016 by Chef Paul Baron and is now also backed by Think Hospitality. Paul started a revolution from our little takeaway shop in Headingley in 2016 inspired by a trip he had to Berlin. He want to make the Döner kebab more than a guilty pleasure for the intoxicated! We now have three stores in the UK – Headingley, Harrogate & Leeds City Centre.
Traditionally you think a kebab as a bit of doner meat on pitta bread with some iceberg lettuce, but we are no stereotypical kebab shop! We use a total of 53 ingredients in the six kebabs we make. We have ten items of salad, feta cheese, homemade bread, homemade sauces and the highest quality meats. Because of this we attract a good bunch of sober people and have a very strong lunchtime offering as well as the evening trade.
